Farah was born and raised in Tokyo. She grew up with a multicultural background. The differences between South Asian and Japanese cultures, customs, and religions have had a great influence on her artwork and her work.  In addition, music and encounters with people who are biorealistic like herself have greatly influenced her photographic and video works.
